If it’s making you scratch a bit, we don’t blame you. But the thing that they call the Leytonstone Itch is a frisky kind of bi-monthly night.
Where is it? Why, at one of our absolute fave E11 hangouts, All You Read is Love, that’s where. And we recommend you check it out.
Or better still, perform. For the creatives out there (and we know there are lots of you) it’s an opportunity to try out ideas and share new work in that rare thing, a “warm, supportive environment”.
The next event is Sunday 9th October. And the team contacted us as they are currently looking for acts (and audience members). You really can get up there and be or do anything, whether it’s music, theatre, dance, comedy or “everything in between.”

So, if you’re a performer, why not send them a short sample of your piece or idea (a video/recording, a sample of the text)?
And if you’re a writer, you might consider the ‘blindly-cast readings’, in which hopefuls submit five-minute scenes or plays to be read by a team of readers with just 15 minutes to prepare on the night. Not only is it a hit with the audience, but writers have testified how useful it is to see work performed in a very different way – and get feedback. Yikes.
But you know what they say? Only the brave etc.
